Gariep Dam forms part of the tranquil Lake!Gariep-tourism route, which includes other towns in the vicinity, and nature reserves adjacent to the dam. It is the ultimate in eco-tourism.
The off-ramp to Gariep Dam is north of where the N1 between Bloemfontein and Colesberg crosses the Orange River.

| Sonklip offers affordable overnight accommodation in two well equipped rooms. Each room consists of a double and a single bed. Extra bed on request. A maximum of 4 persons can be accommodated in one room. Each room has an en-suite bathroom (shower only). |
